Twenty Habits That Hold You Back From The Top By ducky Published: December 5, 2007

The problem with success is the having to deal with bad habits we do on a daily basis. Here are some common ones that everyone does:1. Winning too much: The need to win at all costs and in all situations - when it matters, when it doesn’t, and when it’s totally beside the point. 2. Adding too much value: The overwhelming desire to add our two cents to every discussion. 3. Passing judgment: The need to rate others and impose our standards on them 4. Making destructive comments: The needless sarcasms and cutting remarks that we think make us sound sharp and witty. 5. Starting with “No,” “But,” or “However”: The overuse of these negative qualifiers which secretly say to everyone, “I’m right. You’re wrong.” Read More...

Okay, this might sound crazy but what if you were able to have a 4 person vacation trip all for only $259! Sounds crazy, but I think its the real deal since everyone rents a car and drives down to Florida all the time. Now Florida has an excess amount of rental cars that they need to drive back out and their willing to let you rent it cheap to drive it back out to your city. Linky: BestFares.com
"Airfare for four travelers to the state of Florida, a weekly car rental included and you say the total price* (government taxes not included) can be as low as $259 for four travelers? No way Jose! Liar, liar pants on fire! Think what you want. But if you live in any of the below departure cities, which reflect one-way airfares to Fort Lauderdale, Jacksonville, Miami, Orlando, Tampa and West Palm Beach, you're in Luck!" -bestfares.com |

Okay, this company has been popping up all over the forums I read. Everyone is raving about it and all, but i was skeptical at first and still was for the first month or two. Now i was like okay, i'll give it a look and see why everyone is raving about it.
As we all might think its spam and spyware at first, but i realized its not. Its a modified version of the old get paid to surf programs like the old alladvantage (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AllAdvantage). It was back when we were in highschool or during 1997-1999 where all of us were talking about hey download this and leave it on in your computer and you'll make money. Well its back again with a different model taken up by the company algoco. This time I see why it has the potential to work for this company, and if you were the first ballers to pitch it to friends or coworkers you can make a pretty penny. This thing has the possibilty to rival google adsense. In short this company is basically Read More...
What you should have learned in college. By ducky Published: January 29, 2007

The NextPath site has written up a great list of 13 things that everyone should or should have taken note of during their college years. One thing on the list I see many people fit is:
Taking the Initiative – I remember doing only what I needed to do to get by when I was in college. It was easy doing only what my professors required of me, and often, most students never learned to think for themselves. My boss now expects me to come up with ideas and unique solutions to problems, not just “meeting the minimum standard.”

An interesting video I bumped into today. It's a film made by Wong Fu Productions, they're known for their very popular Yellow Fever video seen 2-3 years ago. Seem like these guys are getting big and professional. From the preview it seems to be very well made even though these guys are just students. They even got into the film festival. Hope they make it big, since we hardly ever see asian american film makers. Check out the preview: http://www.amomentwithyou.com

Bktalia replies: I wouldn't so much count on the school to help you, but the connections you make in school. Keep in touch with people you met in school, because they might work for a company that has a job opening when you decide to come back. - from Baruch Related Forum

Finally the site is done and new. All the voice out clubs from PACE, BMCC, and Baruch have been merged together at last. As for this new thing here, a voice out blog about everyday life in nyc or at school contributed by members. In the coming weeks when spring semester starts, well see how things go. As of right now we need more moderators and someone that is willing to be administrator to this site. Please contact me at realpat [at] gmail.com if you would like to take up on one of these positions. -dux
